What I'm Up To Now

Since graduating, I've been building production websites for real clients across WordPress, HubSpot, and Shopify — here's a closer look at each project and the work involved.

Atelier Dacko — Jewelry Brand Re-branding & E-Commerce Launch

I built a 12-page re-branding website for Atelier Dacko, a custom jewelry brand, using WordPress and Elementor. The project focused on delivering a responsive product showcase with optimized page speed, SEO metadata, and a clean visual identity that reflects the brand's craftsmanship.

Right now, I'm migrating the site over to Shopify to launch a new e-commerce storefront for their upcoming jewelry collection. This involves building custom Liquid templates, setting up the product catalog, and integrating Stripe for payment processing.

N/A — Custom HubSpot Theme & Legacy Migration

For this unnamed client, an AI-focused agency, I developed a custom HubSpot theme with 8 pages from the ground up. The project involved managing the full migration from their legacy theme to the new custom build — mapping existing content, restructuring page templates, and building reusable HubL modules with custom CSS and JavaScript components.

I configured Google Tag Manager analytics for tracking and focused heavily on performance — achieving 90+ PageSpeed scores and a 30% improvement in page load speed through image optimization, lazy loading, and caching configuration. The theme was architected for scalability, with plans to expand into additional service pages and blog integration.

Geeked Out Goods — Vintage Gaming E-Commerce Components

Geeked Out Goods was my first freelance client — a vintage gaming retailer looking to improve their Shopify storefront. I built custom Shopify components and Liquid templates, implementing product display modules and collection page layouts that better showcased their inventory.

A key part of the project was executing JSON data migrations to restructure their product catalog data, along with performing security hardening and technical SEO audits to improve search visibility. This project laid the foundation for my Shopify and Liquid development workflow.

ABOUT ME

Casey Hsu

I'm a full-stack web developer based in Toronto, building production websites for e-commerce, agency, and retail clients. My current projects span WordPress, HubSpot CMS, and Shopify — from custom theme builds and platform migrations to performance optimization and API integrations.

Before moving into development, I spent nine years leading culinary teams — managing high-pressure operations, coaching staff, and optimizing workflows. That experience gave me a strong foundation in deadline management, client communication, and cross-functional collaboration that I bring to every project.

I graduated from George Brown College's Computer Programming and Analysis program with Dean's List honors, and I'm a Contentful Certified Professional with expertise in headless CMS architecture and personalization. I work with JavaScript, React, Node.js, Docker, and modern CI/CD tooling.
